and a lot more…
How We Help
We are different in that, everyone is treated like family, they are respected, we show love and concern for all. We take the time to listen and put together a customized plan to help them achieve their desired results.
We also do Cranial Adjusting (CATS: Cranial Adjusting Turner Style). This is where the skull bones, or cranial bones can subluxate more commonly from trauma, including birth process and interfere with the brain and development of a young child. Cranial adjusting uses the basis chiropractic principle: when a cranial bone is out of place, it causes neurological dysfunction; put it back into place and restore that function. It doesn’t take long but is highly beneficial and effective for a range of problems that were previously thought to be incurable from headaches to autism.
Over the years cranial adjusting has been known to bring about significant improvement in the following issues:
- Headaches
- Head injuries
- Autism
- Learning difficulties
- ADHD
- Concussion
- Memory issues
- Brain injuries

Our clear goal for every practice member is to transform their view of health, unleash the power of the nervous system, & experience abundant freedom
Our Results
Our patients benefit by having a better functioning nerve system, which controls everything. So this could be a better attitude, happier, healthier, more adventurous person. They will have a decrease in pain and symptoms, increase in energy, better ability to sleep and be well rested. Improve their physical abilities.
Grand Rapids Family Chiropractic has had a tremendous amount of success with a wide variety of patients. We have had young kids who were not walking, crawling much, talking even at 2 years old, start to be able to do normal 2-year-old activities like crawling, walking, and talking. We have had behavioral problems in children improve, grades get better, and many children being taken off many ADD/ADHD medications as they no longer have the same behavioral problems. It is truly amazing. Since we take care of athletes, it is not uncommon for them to have traumas to the head, including concussions. These traumas impact the cranial bones delaying the recovery process. This is why Dr. Jed Emms has a passion for taking care of athletes, including helping with concussions. Other common conditions responding well to cranial adjustments include but are not limited to headaches & migraines (not corrected by spinal adjusting), OCD, Epilepsy, Down’s Syndrome, blurred vision, memory problems, ear problems (tinnitus), seizures, developmental delay, and other learning disabilities.

Improved Performance
We see athletes looking to improve their athletic performance, help them after games, matches, tournaments and also recover quickly from injuries and concussions under our care.

Autism
With the help of Cranial Adjustment technique, we have had children diagnosed autistic, removed from the spectrum disorder, some that were non-verbal start talking again and so on.

Headache Relief
For most anyone who has been suffereing from headaches, we have been able to achieve some level of improvement by adjusting either the cervical subluxations or cranial subluxations.
